Run Fact! Seattle, aka the Emerald City, has over 5,500 acres of parks within the city limits for the local running community to enjoy. Is it any wonder that this moist wonderland has more trail races than you can shake a stick at?

Evergreen Trail Series

This wonderful race series featurus runs all over the woods and hills of the greater Seattle area. All runners are automatically included in the Evergreen Trail Runs yearly standings, receiving points toward the series at each event.

What are the races?

Total distance if you run all the events: 125.7 - 535.6 km (78.1 - 332.8 miles)

How many guilt-free donuts can you enjoy if you run each event in this big trail run series?

You can enjoy a dozen guilt-free donuts, and if you chose the longer distance at each event, push yourself towards two dozen!

Do you get anything wonderful for completing the entire trail race series?

Discounts are available for entering multiple races, and you'll get plenty of yummy food after each race. Points are accumulated towards awards for the top runners.

 

Cougar Mountain Trail Run Series

The Cougar Mountain Trail Series races happen in Cougar Mountain Park just outside of Seattle. It's a trail running paradise with rolling hills and trail variety ranging from narrow and technical to wide and groomed. These fantastic trail events help raise money for King County Parks, and have been happening since 2003.

Total distance if you run all the events: 62.9 - 162.9 km (39.1 - 101.2 miles)

Let's assume you ran the longer distance choice for some of these runs - treat yourself to 8 donuts, preferably chocolate covered, cream filled and covered with sprinkles.

Participants can select either the short distance series or long distance series, and accumulate points towards prizes.

 

Half Marathon Trail Series

The Half Marathon Trail Series features nine half marathon trail runs over the course of the year. These events offer courses at a variety of venues, each with a unique beauty and challenge. Run three or more to earn a full series score. See how you compare to others in your age group, or challenge yourself to go the distance three times this year.

Winter Trail Series

The Winter Trail Series celebrates Seattle and the Eastside’s local parks with trail runs that will keep you training and racing all winter. All events have a choice of at least two distances. Round up your running friends and keep fit and motivated over the cooler months with this fun trail series!

Tuesday Night Trail to Grlll Series

The Tuesday Night Trail to Grill series offers an opportunity to enjoy the long days of summer and get your trail fix on a weeknight. All runs end with grilled hot dogs (vegetarian too!) and watermelon or other cool treats. Distances range from 4 kilometers to 10 miles. Come make the most of summer evenings, and put these fun runs on your calendar!

Total distance if you run all the races: 43.2 - 92.9 km (29.9 - 57.7 miles)

It's donut time! How many of these tasty treats do you earn for running all the events?

Let's call it 6 - 8 donuts, based on your race distances triangulated with your love of chocolate covered, cream-filled donuts.

Do you get any great swag for completing the entire series?

Complete at least four runs in the series and receive a great swag bag!

 

Rainshadow Running Series

With some of the most beautiful and challenging trail ultras throughout the Northwest, Rainshadow Races will leave you wondering, why run anywhere else? Some of these runs are near Seattle, but others require some travel. It's worth it! Fair warning, it's not unusual for these events to sell out in advance.

How many guilt-free donuts do you earn for the heroic feat of completing all the races?

Take a week off from running and get a hotel room next to the donut shop. You get the idea.

In addition to very strong legs and lungs, you get the camaraderie of the trail imprinted deep into your bones. Each event also has it own swag & awards.
