Hi Mark, who are you? Give us your one line bio

I am a member of Queen's Park Running Club and I can't help but run!

Tell us a bit about the club history

Queen's Park Running Club has been around since the 80's and was born in a running store on 6th and 6th. The club survived some transformation and today is a running club run by people who love to run.

Nice! Tell us a bit about your members

We welcome and encourage all runners to come out and join us. Our members have a range of ages from 20 something to 70 something and run at a wide range of paces.

Where/when do you usually meet and run?

We meet 3 times a week Tuesday and Thursday nights at 7 pm and Sunday mornings at 8 am for long runs. We meet in Queen's Park (New Westminster) @ the bandshell in the north end of the park.

You can check out the Queen's Park Running Club Facebook to get the most up to date information about group meet up locations and times!

Any cost to be a member/join?

We have a small fee of $35 for the year. That goes towards some club socials, our Xmas Party, and shirts which are all included with your membership.

Is the group affiliated with any events?

None at the moment!

Where are your favourite spots to run in/around the city?

Some run favorites are Port Royal in Queensborough also Foreshore Park along the Fraser River. Both of these runs offer great river views.

Another favorite is the Brunette River and Burnaby Lake run during spawning season.

Do you have any favourite local races?

You will tend to see our club members at the First Half Marathon, Sun Run, BMO Marathon, Scotia Half, and many other events.

Anything else that we should know?

Be prepared to start an addiction that is difficult to kick and be prepared to be encouraged with every step of your running journey! One claim to fame one of our legendary members has participated in 32 Sun Runs! Wow.... I told you running is an addiction one you will never ever regret.
