Tell us a bit about your club history, how long has the club been around?

Burlington Runners Club, or BRC as it is more commonly known, was founded in 1973 by a group of local runners who shared an interest in running and saw an opportunity to use the sport to make a difference in the community.  From its small grass-roots beginning, the club has grown to over 200 members today who continue to carry on the vision of the club's founders and remain committed to making a difference in the community through running and active living

Tell us a bit about your membership? What level of runners do you cater to?

We have all levels of runners from 5k training to sub-3 hour marathoners.

Where/when does your club usually meet/run?

Saturday we meet at Aldershot Pool for 8:30, Sunday is our long run from LaSalle Park at either 7:00 in the summer or 8:00 in the winter. We do a tempo run on Wednesdays from Foot Tools running store at 7:00 p.m.

Any cost to be a member/join?

$40.00 single, $50.00 for family.

Is your group affiliated with any events?

We are! The Burlington Runners are affiliated with a few annual runing races:

Any cool routes/ favourite areas to run in your city that you would like to recommend to other runners? Why do you like those?

The Burlington Waterfront Trail is a great route as it’s an out and back for up to 25k.

Do you have any favourite local races? Outside of anything that you’re affiliated with of course :)

Boxing Day 10 and 4 Miler and Chilly Half Marathon would be my two favourite local races.

Anything else that we should know?

Stay upright and smiling and keep the rubber side down.
