Toronto Runs You Might Like - August

The summer running is nearly over, but there's still a lot of races you can join in on. We've picked the best road races, trail runs, and OCRs in the GTA, so lace up your sneaks and get out there!

Road Runs

The Color Run Toronto

Date: August 12, 2017
Distance: Fun Run

What's not to love about the Color Run? Bring a white T-shirt, grab a pair of sunnies, and enjoy getting colourful with your friends!

The ENDUrun

Date: August 13-20, 2017
Distance: Ultra, Relay

If ultra runs are more of your taste, consider signing up, either solo or in a relay team, for the ENDUrun, an eight day running festival in Kitchener-Waterloo. Designed as a "running camp", you'll make friends, learn new techniques and get a chance to run some of southern Ontario's prettiest routes.

The Runway

Date: August 25, 2017
Distance: Fun Run

A night run on an airport tarmac? That's different! The lights will guide your way as you run along a Region of Waterloo International Airport runway. There's a timed and a non-timed version of the run so you don't have to make it a competition if you just want to run for fun.

Toronto Women's 10k and 5k

Date: August 26, 2017
Distance: 5k, 10k

The Toronto Women's 10k and 5k is a greating training opportunity for women who want a goal race for the end of the summer. You'll find the full gamut of runners in this race - from elite athletes to casual walkers. You decide which corral you fit into.

The Canada Beer Run

Date: August 2, 2017
Distance: 5k

This super-popular race routinely sells out, so don't wait on getting in on this. It's beer, it's running, and it's a pretty fun course through downtown Toronto. 

Trail Runs

MEC Toronto Trail Race THREE

Date: August 12, 2017
Distance: 7k

MEC Toronto offers another inexpensive trail run. Routes change yearly, but include areas around the Kortright Centre, Evergreen Brickworks, and Boyd Conservation Area.

Iroquoia Trail Test Trail Race

Date: August 19, 2017
Distance: 7k, 18k, 34k, Relay

Try saying that three times fast! The Iroquoia Trail Test Trail Race is held at Crawford Lake Conservation Area, southwest of Milton. The 7k trail run is a good opportunity for new trail runners as the course is fairly flat with only a few technical bits thrown in. There's also free practice runs in June, July, and August to get you prepped for the big day.

Obstacle Course Races

Mud Hero North Toronto

Date: August 26, 2017
Distance: OCR

Mud Hero North Toronto takes place at Albion Hills Conservation Area, just 50 minutes north of Toronto. There's the regular 6k course, or if you want to go big before you go home, try the Ultra 10k!
