In this edition of Get To Know Your Running Clubs we spoke with Robyn Penner, store manager of lululemon in Winnipeg who loves being immersed and inspired by our incredible sweat collective. Robyn helps manage the lululemon Winnipeg Run Club. You'll most find the WRC in Assiniboine Park and the Forks.

Hi Robyn! Tell us a bit about your club history, how long has the club been around?

lululemon Winnipeg Run Club has been around for 2 years! it started very organically at assiniboine park. we started with 25 and our groups runs up to 100 on some days. we have a very strong sense of all inclusive and love new comers. we invite every level and ability. we do everything from a 5km to a 10km.

Tell us a bit about your members! What level of runners do you cater to?

Every level!

Where/when does your club usually meet/run?

Every Thursday at 6pm at the duck pond at Assiniboine Park and every Saturday at 8am at the Forks.

Are your group runs mostly casual or more structured workouts?

Mix of casual runs and structured workouts.

Any cost to be a member/join?

It's complimentary fitness!

Is your group affiliated with any events?

Anything that lululemon supports!

Any cool routes/ favourite areas to run in your city that you would like to recommend to other runners? Why do you like those?

Anywhere around the Forks, along the river! It takes you away from the traffic and the busy streets.

Do you have any favourite local races? Outside of anything that you're affiliated with of course :)

Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services Marathon (WFPS)! The medals are amazing, the course is well set up, the support on course is on-point and the entertainment is awesome!

Anything else that we should know?

lululemon Winnipeg Run Club is weekly event for all ages and levels of fitness! A place of no judgement where your personal goals are all that matters. We meet every Thursday at 6pm at the duck pond at Assiniboine Park and every Saturday at 8am at the Forks.

Each runner may join a specific pace group according to their desired level.

These groups will be assigned a leader who will, if asked upon, give advice on everything from nutrition to running shoes!
