Get to Know Your Running Clubs - Runner's Attic Run Club

In this edition of Get To Know Your Running Clubs we spoke with Mark Hubbard, cheerleader for the running community in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia about the Runner's Attic Run Club.

Want to learn more about them? Read on!

Hi, Mark! Tell us a bit about your club history, how long has the club been around?

We have been a club for about 11 years gathering at Runner's Attic on Saturday mornings 9am for beginner to 10k distances and Sundays 8am and 9am for marathon and half marathon training. Both are no cost. Just drop in!

Tell us a bit about your members! What level of runners do you cater to?

We cater to beginner runners up to Ultra marathon runners. Pace is light. We all leave together and wait until the last runner comes in.

Where/when does your club usually meet/run?

We meet at 346 Main Street in downtown Yarmouth, N.S.

Are your group runs mostly casual or more structured workouts?

Mix of casual runs and structured workouts.

Any cost to be a member/join?

It's absolutely free.

Any cool routes/ favourite areas to run in your city that you would like to recommend to other runners? Why do you like those?

There are so many beautiful scenic routes in our town that they are all a favorite! A run to our historic lighthouse and back (10k each way) is by far the prettiest run route!

Do you have any favourite local races? Outside of anything that you're affiliated with of course :)

The Bluenose Marathon starts off as our first run to open our season. It helps to have that goal to make winter pass fast! The Valley Harvest closes our season.

Anything else that we should know?

EVERYONE and EVERY PACE is welcome to join us! We run every weekend!
