Ashland Half Marathon and 5K
The annual Ashland Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk will begin and end at the Marathon Park, which marks the original starting line area for Boston’s marathon for its first 27 years from 1897 to 1923.
This year’s event will once again be a well organized affair which will include all necessary amenities for runners.
All registered runners will receive a bag that will contain their goodies and T-shirt. Water stations will be situated at convenient intervals. The Massachusetts Medical Reserve Corp will have a tent at the VFW staffed by four to six trained medical personnel and RNs attending to runners and others with minor medical issues.
Join us in this landmark event that has a rich history and become a part of a proud local tradition.
The Half-Marathon course is a mixture of flats and hills, at some points running parallel to the Sudbury River and at others skirting Ashland State Park. The route includes the stretch of the traditional course that Boston’s spring marathon follows through the town of Ashland, about 25 miles west of Boston. The 5K course shares some of these features.
