For one magical weekend in June the town of Cochrance comes alive with thousands of runners, volunteers and cheering supporters during Footstock running weekend.
What started out as a 10k in 1999 has blossomed into a 5k, 10k, half marathon, and duathlon. Gorgeous tech shirts, chip timing, enthusiastic volunteers and well planned courses will appeal to all recreational runners. And with sponsors like Garmin and Trailblazers, the fasties in the crowd are sure to take home some great stuff!
To round out the weekend, Footstock hosts the Timbits Trevor Dickson Memorial Kids Triathlon on Sunday, June 4 th . This is a participation focussed event for 400 kids aged 4-16 that has been held here for almost 30 years. It is the perfect race for your little athlete to “test the waters” and see what multisport is all about!
The 5k and 10k races head south on the pathways along the Big Hill Creek and follow the river to the east end of town, while the Half-marathon gives runners a spectacular out and back to the west followed by a run through historic Cochrane Ranche before finishing back at the Festival Grounds.
