Race For Pace
The Race for Pace is a 5k, 10k, and Kids 1k super hero fun run that happens annually in Calgary.
The event is the creation of passionate mother and runner, Shelly McInnis, and is a key fundraising and awareness walk and run event supporting local Calgary based non-profit organization, Pacekids Programs for Children with Motor Disabilities Society.
Participants laced up for the first time in 2008, fulfilling Shelly's dream of raising awareness and funds for an organization that dramatically and positively impacted the life of her daughter, Darcie, and their family as they coped with the challenges associated with Darcie's Cerebral Palsy. Since that summer, the annual event has successfully generated nearly $200,000 for Pacekids Programs, numerous media coverage, and countless memories for thousands of race participants and supporters.
