Distance 5k, 15k
Course Type Road

Race Information

Born in 2008, the inaugural Hot Chocolate 15/5k ran through the streets of Chicago, Illinois. Since then, over 200,000 participants have ran for chocolate, making it the fastest growing race series in the nation!

Each event features both a 15k and 5k distance. All runners are encouraged to join the fun! Participants receive an award winning goodie bag, which they collect at the expo along with their race packet.

But the chocolate really begins to flow at the post-race party, where you can enjoy finisher's mugs filled with hot chocolate, chocolate fonduew and tasy dippable treats! Plus music and a family friendly kid-zone (with bounce houses and games.)

Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is the official charity partner of the Hot Chocolate 15/5k series. The RMHC program provides a “home-away-from-home” for families and children facing a serious medical crisis so they can stay close by their hospital at little or no cost.

Course Information

The Hot Chocolate 15k/5k Chicago gives participants a chance to see all of Chicago's sights from the course.

Both the 15k and 5k courses follow the same path, however they split. To see where they split, watch this animation video.

There will be road closures in effect so residents of Chicago be forewarned and plan ahead if you want to get anywhere in the city that day!
