Too Cold To Hold
The Too Cold to Hold event offers a 5k, 10K, or Half Marathon run each winter in Dallas. This run is part of the Run Project race series, and a local favorite! The Half Marathon course runs the west side of White Rock Lake past the Dallas Arboretum. The event is a great winter training motivator for the Dallas running community. All participants recieve a race T shirt and finisher medal, with a unique event T shirt for 5K racers too. Enjoy the widened trails around White Rock Lake and one heck of an after the race party.
Did you know that this race is part of a series of runs? If you like this race you may want to run one of the following Run Project - Dallas events.
The Half Marathon starts in Norbuck Park and heads out on Northwest Highway for the first mile-plus before heading down the west side of White Rock Lake. The course wraps two-thirds of the way around the lake before hitting the turnaround at Winfrey Point. While the route is mostly out-and-back, the final mile proceeds directly to the finish in Norbuck Park after leaving the lake path (without returning to the Northwest Highway.)
The 5K and 10K race courses are variations on the Half Marathon course, with the exception that the turnarounds come sooner. For the 5K in particular, this makes the course more of a loop than an out-and-back course.
