The Great Candy Run
Get ready to run in Denver's sweetest race, The Great Candy Run, presented by Colorado Institute for Maternal and Fetal Health. The Great Candy Run kicks off at 10am, but before that there is plenty of fun for all particiapants. A kid's fun run 100 meter dash is at 9:45am, with each runner earning a speacial kid's medal and goodie bag. A family festival and vendor expo will be ongoing throughout the morning and after the race, where runners and their families can enjoy face painting, balloon artists, live music and of course, a candy shop!
Runners participating in the event are raising money for the Colorado Insitute for Maternal and Fetal Health, an organization that offers comprehensive care and treatment before, during and after high-risk or routine pregnancies.
Taking place at Washington Park, The Great Candy Run will have runners start off by running along the south side of the park on Louisiana Avenue. Runners then head north on South Downing Street before cutting into the park itself. A quick loop around Smith Lake sends runners back south for a trip around Grasmere Lake before reaching the finish line. Parking is available at South High School and all surrounding streets.
