Sprint For Life 5K
Race Information
Run either a timed 5K or join in a non-competitive 5K run/walk to help raise funds for research and increase awareness about ovarian cancer and its symptoms.
Since 1998, the Sprint for Life has been hosted by MD Anderson Cancer Center Dept. of Gynecologic Oncology and Reproductive Medicine. There will be nearly 20,000 new ovarian cancer diagnoses this year in the U.S. Many patients respond well to treatments such as surgery and chemotherapy after they are diagnosed - but recurrent ovarian cancer often becomes resistant to chemotherapy. Each year, Sprint for Life funds research grants through the Blanton-Davis Ovarian Cancer Research Program that seek to find new ways to treat ovarian cancer.
