Fast Before the Feast
Before you sit down for a big Thanksgiving dinner, get out and participate in a race whose proceeds go to help stock local food shelves for those less fortunate. The Fasy Before the Feast benefits the Hugo and White Bear Lake food shelves, and is one of their most significant food drives of the year that helps them meet the needs of the community. The goal for this year is to raise 10,000 lbs of food, which means that a rough estimate puts it on about 2100 participants to reach this attainable goal. Before kicking off the holiday season in earnest, consider giving by registering for the Fast Before the Feast race and making a food or cash donation the morning of the race.
The course for both the 10K and 5K races starts behind the training center. From the starting line, runners proceed south through the parking area of the White Bear Sports Center and then roams around the quaint neighborhood streets before eventually returning to the training center.
While runners will be running on local streets, both courses stay away from major roads. The course itself is mostly flat, except for one hill near the beginning that runners get to climb and descend twice. The course is great for beginners, with experienced runners finding it to be moderately fast.
