Whether you are running as a team, or only by yourself, get ready to join in with hundreds of other runners and to run the Minneapolis Marathon. With three different races, there is sure to be a run that will challenge you. Get a team together or two, three or four runners and run a marathon in relay form. If you want to challenge yourself, but aren't ready to commit to a full marathon, a half marathon is offered. Finally, if you are ready to tackle a full 26.2 miles, sign up for the marathon!
The course starts for all races (relay, half marathon and full marathon) close to the Theodore Wirth Golf Course. Runners continue down Theodore Wirth Parkway to Victory Memorial Drive and Webber Parkway. Runners cross the Camden Bridge at N. 42nd Ave. and take an immediate right onto St. Anthony Parkway. After that, the course continues onto Marshall St. NE, weaving under the Broadway Bridge at the GRACO plant, before heading onto Main St. NE. Weaving around Nicollet Island, runners return to Main St. NE until they reach SE 3rd Ave. where they continue onto 2nd St. SE until 11th Ave. SE. The course continues on University Ave. SE until East River Parkway. From here, the course splits. Half Marathon runners will cross the Northern Pacific Old Bridge No. 9 and continue to the Finish Line. Full Marathon runners will continue on East River Parkway to the Franklin Bridge. Crossing the Franklin Bridge to West River Parkway, runners continue southbound on West River Parkway until they reach the turnaround point near S. Minnehaha Drive. Marathoners will return back and exit towards the finish line at the Northern Pacific Old Bridge No. 9 This will take runners to 13th and West River Parkway. The Finish Line for the marathon is just north of 11th on West River Parkway in front of Gold Medal Park.
