Before you sit down for you Thanksgiving Day meal, work up your appetite with the Turkey Day Run Minneapolis. First run in 1989, the Turkey Day Run has brought family and friends together to start the day in a healthy and mildly competitive way. Join hundreds of other runners, walkers and joggers in a morning of fun.

While runners are out celebrating fun and fitness on this tremendous Turkey Day, spectators and little ones can enjoy a morning filled with a variety of activities. Come early or stay late to experience hot drinks like cider and cocao, a kid's carnival and Turkey Bowling. The Turkey Day Run truly is fun for the whole family.


Course Information

The starting line for the Turkey Day Run Minneapolis is near the Life Time Fitness Target Center. The course offers up close views of many Twin Cities sites like City Hall, the Metrodome, the Guthrie Theater, Gold Medal Park and of course, the Mississippi River.

Runners start on North 4th Street and make a left turn onto Portland Avenue. From Portland Avenue, there is a right turn on South 2nd Street followed by a left turn on 11th Avenue South followed by a left turn onto West River Parkway. The home stretch of the race is on North 4th Avenue before taking a left turn on North 1st Street and a final right turn on 1st Avenue North to the finish line.

The course is stroller friendly, but runners with strollers will be asked to start from the back of the pack, to avoid safety issues with other runners.
