The Cookie Run
The Cookie Run was first organized by the National Capital Runners Association in 2001 to assist the Osgoode Pathfinders & Girl Guides in raising funds to attend the national jamboree in Calgary, Alberta. The group assisted with the race day organization and supplied the famous Girl Guide Cookies for the age group awards, thus the name of the event.
Although meant to be a one or two year endeavour, it quickly grew into a regular fixture on the Ottawa road race calendar and remains as a fund raising event for the Ottawa area Girl Guides.
This year's Cookie Run for the Girl Guides of Canada features a 1.5K kid’s run, and 5K and 10K races. After working up an appetite on the race course, you can indulge in a few delicious Girl Guide cookies.
