Have no fear! We have a list of other Portland area half and full marathons on our race calendar at www.runguides.com/portland/runs
Oktoberfest, and the chance to go out and run 26.2 miles? Sign us up! The Oregon Marathon not only features a beautiful fall course, but gives runners the option to run the distance as a team with the marathon relay. Additionally, there is a half marathon option for runners who want to tackle a shorter distance (relatively speaking of course).
Best of all, one of the oldest, and biggest Oktoberfests; the Mt. Angel Oktoberfest, happens during race weekend. All of the runners of the event receive Oktoberfest coupons worth $35, so you can refuel on the cheap with special post race bratwurst ...an essential part of any runner’s diet!
Marathoners get to start and finish right in the Mt. Angel Oktoberfest area. The course continues out into the surrounding countryside and follows mostly flat Marion Country oads throughout the countryside for the majority of the event.
half marathon runners follow the marathon course for the first 9 miles before looping back towards Oktoberfest and the finish. The course has very few major turns, with no significant hills. Expect open countryside, fresh air, and very few vehicles.
