NW Trail Runs' Winter Series: Carkeek Cooler
Race Information
One perk of the Pacific Northwest’s winter drizzle is that places like Carkeek Park are lush and green, brightening up even the grayest of days. Plus, the bountiful water gives us stunning views, such as the sight of the Olympic Mountains across the water from Carkeek’s beach. Most importantly for trail runners, Carkeek is also home to six miles of fun, roller-coaster trails that traverse the forest! The trails range from wide and rolling, to narrow and steep. But if ever you’re feeling like the climb is tough, remember that you get to fly back down!

Run Pick of the Month - Jewel of the Valley
Run along the Yakima Greenway Trail - May 11, 2024.
This race is part of the Run Super Series, it features a 5k, 10k, half, and full marathon.
One of the things we like is the terrain on the course. The run follows the mostly flat Yakima Greenway, however, you'll get full views of wineries, crops, and undulating terrain unique to the region.
Expect well supported out and back courses that are USATF certified (BQ eligible). Every participant will end up with a finisher medal and custom race shirt and a neck gaiter.
