Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Half Marathon

This flat and fast race is a great choice for a first race, or for those attempting a personal record. Famous for allowing runners to raise money for one of more than 100 charities, this well organized and high energy event is one of the most loved in North America. Run along the waterfront of Toronto, and give it all you’ve got when you see City Hall, as it marks the finish line! The course is known as one of the best for Boston qualification times.

With a flat course and a pretty necklace instead of a medal to commemorate your efforts, this half marathon isn’t one to miss--if you’re of the female persuasion! The flat course is a great place to try for a PR, or just have a positive first race experience. Aid stations are manned by firemen, and there is chocolate available at each one--so don’t worry about losing motivation through the course.

Run rural at the Collingwood! This downhill course is known for it’s fresh air and peaceful scenery. Start running right down main street in Collingwood, and continue into farmland and countryside towards Niagara. Because this race is in the fall, expect cooler weather and colorful trees on your route. This event is chip timed, and certified by Athletics Canada.

Island Girl Half Marathon

Another female-only event, the Island Girl Half Marathon is Caribbean themed! This race is the perfect way to say goodbye to the summer while it’s still a bit warm out. The course is a straightforward out and back, and is very flat. The atmosphere is supportive and energetic, and there’s a general party vibe throughout the day--an all around ideal mix for a personal best time, or great first experience. Pound the pavement to the beat of a steel drum band at this event! 

Downsview Half Marathon

Looking for a hilly race? With several hills to challenge you, the Downsview Half Marathon is a great way to say farewell to the running season. Get ready for cold weather, as you’ll be running at the beginning of winter--but never fear, you’ll be greeted with hot soup after you finish!
