Toronto Ten Miler
This 10-mile (16.1km) race is scenic, flat, and a solid tune-up for runners training for a big marathon or half-marathon in October. The race often attracts a competitive field, but the events are capped and you won’t find the course too crowded. The course itself has changed slightly over the years (in response to construction in the area) but runners are guaranteed that most of their 10 miles will take place on the beautiful, quiet and peaceful Leslie Street Spit.
The 10 miler and 5k both start at Cherry Beach and move east on Unwin Ave, where the 5k racers hit a turnaround point and the 10 milers continue on to enter the Spit. They will keep going along the spit, pass the lighthouse and then start heading back to complete the out-and-back route.
