BMO Sunshine Coast April Fools Run
The annual BMO Sunshine Coast April Fool’s Run is still, after over 35 years, one of BC's best kept running secrets.
This half marathon happens every April in Gibsons BC, and features a point to point course starting in Gibsons and finishing in Sechelt. The Fool's Half offers a rural setting, great finisher medals, a low entry fee, and friendly West Coast hospitality.
If you're looking for a new half marathon to add to your list this one is worth the quick ferry ride to go and race.
Did you know that this race is part of a series of runs? If you like this race you may want to run one of the following Lower Mainland Road Race Series events.
The net drop on this course is 142 meters but don't let that fool you, there are enough hills on this course to keep you honest. The race starts in Gibsons with a short uphill section immediately before breaking into an undulating few kilometers. After a sharpish uphill section at the 5k mark runners continue to follow a gradual downhill course until 14k (with a few short uphill sections throwin in for good measure!).
Expect some fun incline from 14km until you reach 17km then turn on the afterburners and run out the last 4km on the sharp downhill.
The course is point to point and is very well marked.
