Ottawa Runs You Might Like - May

May has some of Ottawa's biggest and best running events! Here's a short list of a few new adventures for your running bucket list.

Wakefield Covered Bridge Run

Date: May 5, 2018
Distance: 3k, 5k, 10k, Half-marathon

The Wakefield Covered Bridge Run takes runners through some of Wakefield's most beautiful and picturesque landscapes. The event offers a 3k for kids and their parents, a 5k along the Gatineau River and across the Covered Bridge, and 10k or half marathon trail options.

Shoppers Run for Women Ottawa

Date: May 12, 2018
Distance: 5k, 10k

The SHOPPERS LOVE. YOU. Run for Women is part of a national women's race series offering a 5K, 10K & Little Steps Girls 1K. The event is timed and raises funds for women's mental health programs in your community. 

Sporting Life 10k

Date: May 13, 2018
Distance: 10k

The Sporting Life 10K is a fun, flat, fast 10k road race over the Colonel By Drive. The race supports CHEO, helping sick children and research through the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, and is run the same day as it's sister event in Toronto.

Early Bird Run

Date: May 19, 2017
Distance: 1k, 3k, 8k

The Early Bird Run (formerly the Colonel By Classic) takes place on the same weekend as the Somersault Events Early Bird Triathlon and Duathlon held earlier the same morning. The shorter race distances make this one a popular warm-up event for Ottawa Race Weekend.

Black Fly Trail Race

Date: May 20, 2018
Distance: Ultra


The Black Fly Trail Race (the first 3Beavers Racing event of the season) is a timed ultra-trail race in which participants attempt to complete the greatest number of loops of a grueling race course within a set time limit of 3, 6, or 12 hours. 

Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend

Date: May 26-28, 2018
Distance: 2k, 5k, 10k, Half-marathon, Marathon, Kid's Marathon

Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend is Canada’s largest running weekend. Last year close to 47,000 people participated in six events; everything from 2K right up to the full marathon. This is a must hit, bucket list event for any runner!
