Road Runs

Starlight Run

Date: Saturday June 2, 2018
Distance: 5k, Fun Run

The mother of all costume contests takes place at the Starlight Run. The Starlight Run is Portland’s largest fun run. Every year over 4,000 runners costume up and run a 5k, untimed run on the Starlight Parade route in front of more than 250,000 spectators. All ages participate in the pre-run contest and win prizes in a whole barrage of categories!

This year’s theme: “Play Happy”

Helvetia Half Marathon

Date: Saturday June 9, 2018
Distances: 10k, 15k & half-marathon

A little outside of Portland is the Helvetia Half Marathon. It's well worth the short trip to go run it. Runners can expect some absolutely stunning countryside along the route. Don’t forget your costume! They will be hosting a “Best Farm Animal” Costume Contest (this has got to be hilarious to watch!)

Portland Parks $5 5k - Race 2

These fun runs are a series of family friendly runs and walks that take place late spring through early fall seasons, at parks throughout the Portland area. The events are non-competitive and perfect for all ages and abilities. The $5 5k races are a fun and exciting way for the community to come together and support healthy lifestyle choices.

Summer Solstice 5K at the Oregon Zoo

Summer Solstice 5K at the Oregon Zoo

Date: Thursday June 21, 2018
Distance: 5k

This is part of ORRC's 5k run series. Spend the summer solstice "monkeying around" with your family and friends on this fun sunset run around the Oregon Zoo. The loop course run entirely within the Zoo will give participants the chance to see the Elephant Lands, the African Rainforest, Pacific Shores and the Primate Forest.

Purchase a limited-edition event T-shirt—all proceeds go to the Oregon Zoo Foundation to benefit the chimpanzees!

Twilight Run

Date: Saturday June 23, 2018
Distance: 5k, fun run

The annual Twilight Run includes a 5k race for adults and a 1 mile race for kids. The race starts in the early evening at the Tigard Festival of Balloons.

The route follows a flat and fast course along the beautiful bike trails. As you race towards the sunset, you will be surrounded by the wonders of the park and excitement of the Festival.

Red White & Blues

Red White & Blues

Date: Saturday June 30, 2018
Distance: 10k, 15k & half marathon

Part of the Hood to Coast race series, the Red, White, and Blues 10k, newly added 15K run/walk and half marathon is one festive event! A mostly downhill journey through tree-lined county roads and scenic views of the Tualatin river makes it the unofficial fastest race of the Hood to Cost race series runs.

This race is held on the Saturday before the 4th of July with a fun patriotic finish party. Run, party, repeat?

Trail Runs

Wy’east Wonder 50M & 50K

Wy’east Wonder 50M & 50K

Date: Saturday June 16, 2018
Distance: 50k & 50 mile

This 50-miler and 50k are possibly the most scenic race yet and will introduce you to trails you’ll want to return to again and again.

The race starts at Bennett Pass Sno Park and finishes at the Oak Ridge trailhead, right near Parkdale, Oregon. The post-race party is just a short shuttle ride away at the Red Barn Park in Parkdale. Essentially this is trail heaven...

Portland Trail Series - Spring & Summer Series

Date: Various Dates
Distance: 4-7 Miles 

The Portland Trail Series is a super-cool, low-key series of trail races held in Forest Park in Portland. Three five-race series (Spring, Summer and Fall) are held Wednesday evenings from May-October, and each race covers a different, challenging course, ranging from 4-7 miles. Runners that participate in at least four races for each series are included in the overall series standings and doing well in the series will land you some fantastic gear from some great sponsors.

Rugged Maniac Portland

Rugged Maniac is hitting the Portland International Raceway with 25 epic obstacles and 1 rockin’ party. Just remember to jump extra high over the fire obstacle as we're not sure how the waiver works exactly...

It's pretty easy: register for the race and you’ll run a 3-mile course where you’ll climb towers of shipping containers, rocket down a massive water slide, crawl through underground tunnels, leap over fire and experience some BIG obstacles. Pretty awesome!
