Road Runs

Forever Young 8K

Date: September 10, 2017
Distance: 8k

The Forever Young 8k is a unique and very popular seniors only event, meaning that you have to be 55 or older on race day to enter. The race is sanctioned and timed for official age group records, offers multiple age category awards (bottles of wine!), and follows a flat an scenic course along the Richmond dyke. Fun fact; if you're 90 or older your registration is free!

Under Armour Eastside 10K

Date: September 16, 2017
Distance: 10k

The final Canada Running Series West race of the season. This is a one of the city’s most popular 10k road races, and favourite of many local run crews. It also features a rarely used section of Vancouver roads for the course!

The night race gives you a chance to finally break out those glows ticks that have been collecting dust in your basement as you become part of a bobbing mass of headlamps racing around a mellow road course at night.

parkrun 5k vancouver

Date: Every Saturday
Distance: 5k

Tremendously popular in Europe, parkrun is a weekly, free, timed 5k run that has recently begun running Saturday's in Richmond. The runs are open to people of all ages and abilities, and are timed with an individual barcode that tracks your stats online.

Trail Runs

Salomon Valley to Peak

Distance: 22.5km

Want to run up one massive hill? Then this is the race for you! The Whistler Blackcomb Salomon Valley to Peak gives runners the opportunity to tackle the full 1609m vertical of Whistler Mountain while enjoying some of the best single track around.

Sky Pilot Trail Run

This race, part of the Coast Mountain Trail Series, is a very challenging mountain run through some spectacular terrain. Check the elevation profile, you’re in for a treat ;)

Distance: One grind

Super simple race, just rip up the Grouse Grind as fast as you can! This race is the unofficial end to the summer grind season, and gives runners a shot at cementing their grind times online for future glory (and bragging rights).

Whistler Alpine Meadows

Whistler Alpine Meadows trail run

Date: September 23, 2017
Distance: 12k, 25k, 55k

This race is part of the Coast Mountain Trail Series and gives runners an opportunity to race along Skywalk trail near Whistler. Expect killer scenery, and some solid elevation on all three course distances.

5 Peaks BC Race 6 - Buntzen Lake

5 peaks buntzen lake

Date: September 30, 2017
Distance: Kids 1k & 3k. 10k, 15k

5 Peaks Buntzen Lake is the final race of the British Columbia series (all previous races sold out this year). This one has a very limited field of 200 runners and features both a 10k sport and 15k enduro distance. BC season awards get handed out after this race finishes up so make sure you bring your confetti cannons.

Fun Runs

Terry Fox Run

Terry Fox Run

Date: September 17, 2016
Distance: Varies

The Terry Fox Run is an annual Canada wide event (actually hundreds of locally organized events) that help to raise money and awareness for cancer research. There are no entry fees, and while donations are encouraged, no minimum donations are required. Always a great day out, runs will be happening all over the Vancouver area so check the official event website to find a location near you.
