It is Turkey Time! Here are a few runs in the Austin area that will help you celebrate Thanksgiving and rev up your appetite for some delicious Turkey, Mash-potatoes, and Pumpkin Pie!

Run for the Water

Date: November 5, 2017
Distance: 5k

The Gazelle Foundation's "Run for the Water" is a premier fall running/walking fundraiser to help the people of Burundi. Through collective fundraising efforts, the foundation is able help build water projects that provide access to clean water for entire Burundi communities. Come make a difference by choosing to run a 5 K, 10 Mile, or Kids 1 K.

Run by the Creek

Date: November 12, 2017
Distance: 5k and 10k 

Come out and enjoy the beautiful scenery of Dripping Springs on one of the prettiest courses you will find in the Austin area. Run by the Creek Race is made possible by The Dripping Springs Running Club (DSRC). DSRC is a non-profit organization contributing to local Dripping Springs non-profit organizations, public projects, and events.

Cedar Park Turkey Day 5k

Date: November 23, 2017
Distance: 5k 

Beginning and finishing at Gupton Stadium near Vista Ridge High School, this 5k race is the perfect event to start off your Thanksgiving Day. Bring the whole family and celebrate the run with awards, music, and great food.

ThunderCloud Subs Turkey Trot

Date: November 23, 2017
Distance: 8k

This Turkey Trot is the largest five mile run in Texas!  And with a one mile walk and Kids K, this is an event for everyone! Bring the family to one of Austin’s beloved Thanksgiving traditions that benefits Caritas of Austin. Caritas helps those in poverty and provides them with resources to achieve self-sufficiency.

Trail Runs

Dirt Trails and Pony Tails

Date: November 4, 2017
Distance: 5k and 8k

Dirt Trails and Pony Tails Trail Race is the first of three races in the Trailhead Running race series. This women’s only event has a 5k and 8k option. As you run through this beautiful course, there will be plenty of spectators and support, but remember to bring your own water bottles as this is an environmentally friendly cup free race.

Fun Runs and Obstacle Course Races

Rugged Maniac - Austin

Date: November 4, 2017
Distance: 5k 

Up for a new running challenge? Running Maniac at the Travis County Exposition Center offers 25 epic obstacles over a 3-mile course. You'll leap, climb, crawl and run your way to the finish line with your fellow maniacs in this weekend event that you won't forget!

Wicked Wine Run - Austin

Date: November 18, 2017
Distance: 5k

This wild run takes you through the vineyards and trails of the beautiful Spicewood Vineyards. Along the route you will find multiple aid stations serving wine! But don't stay too long as there are prizes and more wine waiting for you at the finish line. Enjoy the rocking post-run party with Live music, food trucks, and plenty of more wine.
