Seattle Turkey Trot Guide

The Thanksgiving morning Turkey Trot, a great hedge against stuffing yourself later, and the festive way bridge the gap from morning coffee to football & feasting. There's good cheer, costumes and plenty of competitive spirit for those inclined to run hard from the gun.

Here's our list of Turkey Trots happening around the Seattle area. All happening on Thanksgiving morning, except the first run on the list which happens the Sunday before.

A Kirkland tradition with more than 1,400 people, the run happens the Sunday before Thanksgiving. This amazing community event brings people together for a day of fun and festivities at Marina Park featuring hot chocolate, photos, prize drawings and other fun giveaways. Walkers and Runners alike are welcome to join in this holiday tradition.

Turkey Day 5K and 5 Mile

Held in the Redmond Watershed Preserve, the annual Turkey Day 5k and 5 Mile is a great event for the entire family. Male and female race winners get a pie! The rest of us can dress in a Thanksgving themed costume to vie for Costume Contest honors.

Come to gorgeous Magnuson Park on the shore of Lake Washington on Thanksgiving morning to race 5k, 10k or 15k on the scenic course. This is the largest of the monthly Magnuson runs, be sure to arrive early and leave a bit of time to park and get your race bib. Pies are involved in this race too!

Come out to Battle Point Park on Bainbridge Island for this 5k run and 1-mile fun run. Join the fun with a mix of locals and Thanksgiving visitors. The courses are mostly flat with gentle inclines and are family and stroller friendly (however dogs are not allowed on the race course).

The scenic run starts in the Sunset Hill neighborhood near Ballard, and finishes at Golden Gardens Park. The Ballard Food Bank is instrumental in organizing and handling the yearly run. All proceeds raised go directly to provide food for those in need in the Seattle area.

This event features a flat and fast chip-timed 5k trail run beginning at Wilmot Park in Woodinville and moving along the Sammamish River Trail. Those inclined can enjoy the 3.1 miles as a recreational walk with family and friends. Whether your a competitive athlete, recreational runner or walker, look forward to a great morning with race t-shirts, finisher medals, age group winner awards and online finisher results.

The race starts at the Kelsey Creek Shopping Center in the Lake Hills area of east Bellevue.  The course is flat, fast and family friendly. 90% of the course runs away from traffic on the wide-open carriage trail path that winds through the Lake Hills Greenbelt Park. Bring your dog too!
