The Issaquah Turkey Trot is a fun & casual run, walk or trot Thanksgiving morning downtown Issaquah. The purpose is to come together as a community during the Thanksgiving holiday and help those in need. All ages are welcome! Thanksgiving costumes & accessories are encouraged! The Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank serves individuals and families ​that live in the Issaquah School District boundaries.

Gig Harbor Turkey Trot

In 2003, Tim Holmes' son challenged him to run a marathon with him. The elder Holmes, who owned Holmes Chiropractic, accepted the challenge and put up the first Gig Harbor Turkey Trot that year. In its first year, on Thanksgiving morning, after inviting his friends and patients, about 15 people showed up. In the second year, there were 20 people who showed up. Now, Tim Holmes says, the Thanksgiving morning event has become something of a family tradition for a lot of people. By its 5th year in 2008, 1,600 people from as far as Ohio and India participated in the new tradition.The event raises money and collects food for Peninsula FISH food bank. All participants to the Gig Harbor Turkey Trot are encouraged to drop off their donations at the designated locations. In addition to supporting the food bank, the event has created scholarships for both Peninsula and Gig Harbor high schools.

Magnuson Run: Thanksgiving

Come to gorgeous Magnuson Park on the shore of Lake Washington on Thanksgiving morning to race 5k, 10k or 15k or more on the scenic course. The theme this year and every year is run more = eat more! This is the largest of the monthly Magnuson runs, be sure to arrive early and leave a bit of time to park and get your race bib. Bring any type of food, perishable or non-perishable and it goes to the University Food bank, plus this event is a fundraiser for the local nonprofit Teen Feed. We're betting on delicious pies for top competitors again this year!
