Over 15,000 people gather on Thanksgiving morning for this Turkey Trot. This event benefits BakerRipley, formerly Neighborhood Centers, a community development organization that has served this region for 110 years. Bring your family and friends together and join this fun and healthy Thanksgiving tradition that everyone loves. With a 10k, 5k, and Kid's 1k there is a run for everyone at this event.

L3 Foundation Turkey Trot

Distance: 5k and Fun Run
Run Size: 500

Taking place in Kingwood, the L3 Turkey Day 5K & Wishbone 1K is a perfect way to enjoy your Thanksgiving Day morning. Get out for a run or walk before you head back home for Turkey Day preparations. This event helps support the L3 Foundation, whose mission is to aid children and their families who are fighting childhood cancer.

Katy YMCA Turkey Dash

This annual YMCA Turkey Dash on Thanksgiving Day takes place in Katy. Designed for veteran runners and first-time participants alike, this event has multiple distances and one of the best post-race parties, packed with food, giveaways, a photo booth and a kids fun zone. For added excitement and fun, the event includes a costume contest with prizes awarded to the “Best Thanksgiving Theme” and “Most Unique Costume”. All proceeds from the YMCA Turkey Dash provide scholarships to programs such as child care, summer camps, swim lessons, sports leagues and assistance to various area outreach programs within the Katy community.

Run Thru the Woods

Distance: 5 mile, 3 mile, and Kids Run
Run Size: 1,500

A local Thanksgiving morning tradition in the Woodlands, the YMCA Run Thru the Woods, has supported local non-profits with the goal of strengthening The Woodlands, Spring and Oak Ridge communities for many years. The event brings thousands of community members together on Thanksgiving Day for entertainment and a run designed for all ages.

Sugar Land Turkey Trot

Date: November 23, 2017
Time: 7:30 a.m.
Distance: 5 mile, 2.8 mile walk and Kids Run
Run Size: 1,200

Houston's original Thanksgiving Day run. This Turkey Trot is held in the beautiful Sugar Creek subdivision, about 20 miles from downtown Houston. The morning kicks off with a mile run for the under-12's, followed by the five mile race. Participants are asked to bring canned goods, warm clothing, and running shoes for East Fort Bend Human Needs Ministry.
