The Thanksgiving weekend Turkey Trot is a running community tradition!

It's a great way to start off this wonderful holiday and feel just fine about going back for seconds at the dinner table. Enjoy some fresh air while you take on a physical challenge and connect with the community at these running events. You will have an extra bounce in your step when you return home and spend quality time with friends and family watching football and feasting on delicious turkey, stuffing, cranberries and more.

Pumpkin Spice Run

Date: Saturday November 19, 2022
Distance: Half Marathon, 10k, and 5k
Run Size: 1,500

The Pumpkin Spice run is part of the fall multi-distance race series. This festive event is held before Thanksgiving at the unique Panther Island Pavilion park in Fort Worth and gives you a chance to celebrate the season with your fellow runners before finishing your Thanksgiving Dinner shopping. Participants can be extra thankful this year as they receive a long sleeve tech shirt, finishers medal and a post race beverage, sweets, treats as well as the option to partake in the annual Pumpkin Pie eating contest, and enjoy the cozy indoor after party with live music.

Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot

Date: Thursday November 24, 2022
Distance: 5k, 8 mile and a new 1k 'Junior Trot'
Run Size: 10,000

The Dallas YMCA Turkey Trot, sponsored by Capital One Bank, is the largest Thanksgiving Day running event in the area. The first Dallas Turkey Trot was held at White Rock Lake over 40 years ago with only 107 participants. Today it has grown into the undisputed "Way to Begin Thanksgiving Day" for the Dallas running community.

Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot

Date: Thursday November 24, 2022
Distance: 10k, 5k and 1k 'Gobbler Trot' Kids Run
Run Size: 13,000 (it's huge!)

Work up an appetite and support the Fort Worth YMCA at the same time. Start your Thanksgiving Day off right with a 1K Gobbler Trot, 5K or 10K run around Camp Bowie Blvd in Fort Worth, TX. You can choose to be chip-timed or simply run or walk for fun. Strollers and dogs are welcome! Proceeds from the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot benefit the scholarship/youth program of the YMCA of Metropolitan Fort Worth.

CRC Thanksgiving Day Run

Date: Thursday November 24, 2022
Distance: Half Marathon, 10k, 5k, and 1-mile Fun Run
Run Size: 3,000

Kick off your Thanksgiving Day celebration with the CRC Thanksgiving Day Run. Join the local running community in a quest to create some space for all that delicious Thanksgiving food. You may be a competitive racer, mid-pack runner, jogger or walker but you are sure to have a real good time at this event that features many different race distances and whole lot of fun.

Park Glen Turkey Trot

Distance: 5k and 2k Fun Run

The Park Glen's Annual Turkey Trot is a great community event for North Fort Worth!  This 5k is a timed race along a certified course through Arcadia Park. There is also a casual 2k for those just looking to get outside. The event includes great race t-shirts, swag bags, snacks and a big awards ceremony.

North Texas Turkey Trot

Distance: 5k, 10k and 1 mile
Run Size: 3,000

The North Texas Turkey Trot is an annual event that benefits the Miracle League of Frisco. Join thousands of participants who celebrate the holiday with grandparents, relatives, friends and their youngest who we look to see with their own families in the years ahead!

Plano Pacers Turkey Run Off

Date: Saturday November 26, 2022
Distance: 5k and 15k and 1k 'Junior Sprint'
Run Size: 500

The Plano Pacers invite you to their monthly club run at the Bob Woodruff Park Pavilion in Plano Texas. All Plano Pacers events are open to the public, have low-cost entry fees (just $10 bucks!), the Junior Sprint is FREE to all kids and the event is sure to burn some of those turkey calories accumulated over the holiday!
