The Thanksgiving morning Turkey Trot is a running community tradition!

It's a great way to start off this wonderful holiday. Enjoy some fresh air while you take on a physical challenge and connect with the community at these running events. You will have an extra bounce in your step when you return home and spend quality time with friends and family watching football and feasting on delicious turkey, stuffing, cranberries and more.

El Guajolote Run 5K

The annual El Guajolote Run 5K is the season cap to the Andiamo Race Series. This fun 5k run takes place at the VFW Post 76. There are opportunities to sign up as an individual racer or as part of a team. As with all races in the series, unique medals for all race finishers will be given out. Participants can enjoy a goody bag, snacks, refreshments and live music after the conclusion of the race!

Texas Tough Turkey Chase

Join fellow turkey lovers, runners and friends for an appetite-inducing morning of good-natured competition. The annual Texas Tough Turkey Chase is a 5k, 10K, and Kids Half Mile Run. Of all the events around town this guarantees to be the most scenic and challenging of them all. It will make gobbling down turkey and all the fixins' worth it after you've crossed the finish line. The event starts and finishes at the Dominion Hills neighborhood entrance. The course is challenging and scenic. After the race you can enjoy some cold adult refreshments, light snacks, and good company. Kick your Thanksgiving Day off right with The Tough Turkey Chase!

San Antonio Turkey Trot

The San Antonio Food Bank's Turkey Trot 5K is a chip-timed Run/Walk on Thanksgiving morning to help fight hunger in our community. This event has something for everyone: An enjoyable morning stroll to keep the calories at bay; a chip-timed race for the more competitive runners, a pet-friendly portion of the event for our canine friends – and is now one of a very few races allowed to run through the King William Historic District and on the Riverwalk.

SARR Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot

Distance: 4 miles
Run Size: 500

Celebrate Thanksgiving with the San Antonio Road Runners Turkey Trot. This beautiful and scenic 4 mile course runs along paved roads. A costume contest with pumpkin pies and a drawing for free smoked Turkeys are the highlights of the post race party. Proceeds from this race go to support the SARR Scholarship Fund.

Boerne Family YMCA Turkey Trot

Date: November 18, 2017

Distance 10k and 5k
Run Size: 600

The Turkey Trot is one of the Hill Country's top races. This annual 5K/10K race starts in the west by the Main Plaza and follows the Old #9 trail. The event also offers a Fun Trail Walk and a Youth Mini race making it a family friendly event that is fun for all on this holiday morning.
