Edmonton Runs You Might Like - December/January 2018
Two great things about late season running; you get to wear holiday themed outfits and there’s usually hot chocolate at the finish line! Here are a few December and January runs in the Edmonton area that you may want to keep your eye on.
Date: December 2, 2017
Distance: 5k and 1k Kids Run
The annual 5K Santa Shuffle Fun Run & 1K Elf Walk in Edmonton takes place at William Hawrelak Park. This family friendly event helps The Salvation Army to assist families and individuals in need during the Christmas season and throughout the year. Pledges raised for the Santa Shuffle will support people in the community who may be struggling to make ends meet.
Date: January 1, 2018
Start the New Year off on the right foot by establishing or maintaining an active lifestyle! This morning event takes place at the William Lutsky YMCA. In addition to post-event refreshments, you will also receive a stylish Resolution Run Souvenir.
Date: December 10, 2017
Distance: 100k, 75k, 50k, and 25k
This run is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy Edmonton’s beautiful river valley in winter with likeminded athletes while running hour after hour. Runners have the option of choosing from a 25k, 50k, 75k, or even 100k. Wintery conditions will certainly add to the fun challenge of this run.

Distance: 50k, 25k, and 5k
In the heart of an urban centre is a river valley that contains 100 miles of some of the gnarliest trails around. With single-track technical sections, cliff-hugging climbs, and views that make you forget you're in civilization, this bi-annual ultra race series has something for everyone. The winter edition of this race adds a fun snowy cold twist to this challenging event.
