Phoenix Turkey Trot Guide

The Thanksgiving weekend Turkey Trot is a running community tradition! 

It's a great way to start off this wonderful holiday and feel just fine about going back for seconds at the dinner table. Enjoy some fresh air while you take on a physical challenge and connect with the community at these running events. You will have an extra bounce in your step when you return home and spend quality time with friends and family watching football and feasting on delicious turkey, stuffing, cranberries and more.

Pumpkin Pie and Cranberry Course aid stations! Any Questions? This family friendly race features  scenic loop routes through downtown Phoenix. There will also be a tot trot.

Thanksgiving Day Classic

Distance: 10mi, 5k, 1mi
Race Size: 1200

Want to eat a LOT on Thanksgiving? This is the race for you, a USATF certified 10-miler to really burn up the calories! There's also a newly designed 5k course and it's built for speed (not for comfort... that comes later!) Don't forget the 1-mile fun run for those prefer a shorter distance.

Gilbert Turkey Trot

Gilbert Turkey Trot

Get those feathers ready, fill up those water bottles, start practicing your gobbles… it’s trotting time! The 1-mile fun run starts the festivities followed by the 5k run. Race day registration is available but pre-register to be guaranteed a T-Shirt!

Mesa Turkey Trot

Mesa Turkey Trot

Come bright & early to Red Mountain Park in Mesa on Thanksgiving morning to run a chip-timed 5k or 10k, or 1-mile fun run. This is one of Arizona's oldest running events, Thanksgiving wouldn't be the same without it! Strollers are allowed in all events!

Laveen Turkey Trot & Kids Dash

Laveen Turkey Trot

Experienced runners will enjoy this chip-timed 5k, but all levels from beginners to seasoned veterans are welcome. There's also a Kids mile and a dash for the tiniest runners out there.

Anthem Turkey Trot

Anthem Turkey Trot

Run Size: 1300

Beginning and ending at the Anthem Community Center, this rolling course winds through the beautiful Anthem community in the shadow of Daisy Mountain and Gavilan Peak. Bring the whole clan out for good times at this stroller friendly event! The event is a fundraiser/food drive for the local food pantry.

Fountain Hills Turkey Trot

Race Size: 1,500

The start line for all distances will be on the Avenue of the Fountains in front of Town Hall. Stick around for the Chamber of Commerce Thanksgiving Day Parade after the race.

Fat Turkey Trail Run

Why come run the Fat Turkey Trail Run? Because you’ve eaten too much, because it’s in Papago, because it’s on the trails, because more than a 10k is too far when you’re this full!

If you feel you can haul yourself off the couch post-Thanksgiving, head into Phoenix for this Arizona Canal Trail 10K or 5K.
