Bit about them: If you’re aged 9 to 17 this track season focused group is a great place to develop your running. With expert coaching and dedicated weekly training sessions that work towards seasonal track meets, it’s great chance to get to grips with what you can achieve through track running.

The details: Monday, 6.30pm/Wednesday, 12.05pm/Thursday, 9.00am/Saturday, 8.30am @ Various locations

Bit about them: A fun and fearless trail group, their roster of weekly runs caters to most any trail runner whether you’re a complete beginner or have been storming the trails for years. Expect pack leaders and sweepers on every run, and look out for their spring and summer adventure runs for a chance to go further afield and take in some new routes.

Need for Speed YEG

The details: Tuesday, 5.30am @ Rollie Miles Athletic Park (Spring/Summer) or Kinsmen Centre (Fall/Winter)

Bit about them: Looking for some run buddies to help you get faster? This group is a dedicated pack of runners who keep each other accountable with weekly speed workouts. All paces are welcome, and you’ll be encouraged to work to your own ability while having the support of the group around you. It’s an early start, but worth it for the post-run coffee and breakfast!

November Project Edmonton

The details: Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 6.00am @ Various locations

Bit about them: Famous for their fun-loving, group-hugging workouts, this November Project crew has two runs each (Wednesday & Friday) alongside their weekly bootcamp style session. Guaranteed good times and plenty of hugs, the 6am start time feels much better with a bunch of others to workout with.

Bit about them: This super friendly local group are an awesome reason for you to get out and explore the Whyte Avenue area every week. No matter your pace there will be someone to run with, so expect a social pace and a chance to meet some new running friends.

Bit about them: Founded in 2017 as a place for post-collegiate runners to meet like-minded athletes, the group has evolved into a place for anyone from beginners to elite who wants to focus on progressing their running. Their programs have a monthly fee, and you’ll get access to personalised coaching and access to group workouts.

Team Edmonton - Arctic FrontRunners

Bit about them: The running from Team Edmonton - a group supporting LBGTQ2+ friendly sports and recreation throughout the city. The group meets for a fun and inclusive 7km every Sunday, with no restrictions on pace or experience.

Wild Rose Runners

The details: Tuesday, 6.30pm @ Various locations

Bit about them: Started by Ryan Chilibeck of EVRC, Wild Rose Runners follow the same philosophy of no jerks allowed, and no one left behind. A truly social run group, the emphasis is on the post-run beer more than the run itself (yes, seriously!). Join them each week from a different local brewery (check social media for the latest meeting points) and you’ll soon have a whole crew of new running friends.
