Edgewater 5K Run/Walk
The Edgewater 5k provides the perfect opportunity to enjoy everything Edgewater has to offer. The race begins at Kenmore and Rosemont, adjacent to the campus of Loyola University Chicago. Runners head south on Sheridan Road on a rare opportunity to run in the street! The route turns east at Ardmore and then meanders along the lakefront before turning around and heading back through the park.
There is no shortage to post-race brunch options in Edgewater! Stay close and dine on Granville Ave., or stretch your legs and head south to Bryn Mawr Ave. Either way, you won’t be disappointed! Don't forget to return to Granville Ave. for the Edgewater Fall Art Fair, featuring over 90+ artists, two stages and a beer garden.
Runners can designate which school receives the donation part of their race entry. The 48th Ward is home to nine elementary schools and two high schools, collectively serving more than 6,000 students. Reflecting the incredible diversity of Edgewater, the local students represent hundreds of countries around the world and speak over 75 different languages. Despite great challenges, many local schools have achieved marked success, including receiving the highest CPS Level 1 ratings, the National Blue Ribbon Award, expanded IB programs, and innovative arts partnerships.
Funds raised by the Edgewater 5k Run/Walk will go toward providing expanded educational opportunities such as arts and sports programs.
