Hub City Half and 5K
Race Information
You are spoilt for choice for races here, as Hometown Happenings hosts the Hub City Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 20 Mile and 5K Run at Sauerman Woods in Crown Point, IN. This out and back, chip timed 13.1 mile race and 5K race will wind through some of the city's finest residential neighborhoods, touting some of the nostalgic history and legendary visitors of this small, home town city. Marathoners will run the half marathon course twice, while there will be a turnaround point marked out for the 20 Mile runners.
Included in the entry fee for the all half marathon participants is a Hub City Half Marathon Finishers Medal. . Awards will be given to top overall, top master (40+) & top 3 finishers in each age group. Water, Gatorade and Powerbar gels will be offered at stations along the course.
The race finishes with refreshments and live music. Participants can also register as part of a charity.

For 46 years, runners of all levels and abilities have supported Lincoln Park Zoo with Run for the Zoo. This run makes it easy for anyone from casual runners to elite athletes help support their favorite species at the zoo and save them in the wild.
The 10K Run and 5K Run/Walk courses are U.S.A. Track & Field-certified and chip-timed for experienced athletes. All finishers receive a unique animal-themed medal along with a race shirt.
Run for the Zoo is also designed to accommodate every member of the family, so you can make a day of it. The Kids’ Course is perfect for kids ages 2–7, who can run, climb, and crawl over playful obstacles on the South Lawn.
