Distance Other, 6k, 18k, 24k, 48k
Course Type Trail

Race Information

Race The Cape happens at a beautiful course along the Bay of Fundy with plenty of technical and climbing to satisfy most trail runners. Participants are treated to spectacular views of The Bay of Fundy as they head out and back along the course. The views are breathtaking and well worth the stops to take in the awesomeness and take some pictures (just be careful of the edges).

The 12k, 24k, and 48k courses will all include the ~800m climb at an average of 16 – 20% grade (with points at 27%) out of Millbrook Canyon – some say it’s easier to crawl up than walk! The 48k loop around Cape Chignecto Park has roughly 2600m of elevation! The loop may also include water crossings depending on the weather leading up to race day – so be prepared for possible wet feet.  The 24k out and back has ~1500m of elevation, the 12k has ~ 800m and the 6k has ~ 300m.

Organizers note that the 24k and 48k are not recommended as beginner courses – there is plenty of elevation with narrow and technical trails.

Prevent Injury & Run Your Best

One of the biggest training mistakes runners make is leaving recovery to chance.

Running demands a lot from our bodies, if we’re not keeping up with maintenance, then it will eventually break down.

The best way to prevent injury while training for an event is with targeted mobility and strength work.

Our friends at Dynamic Runner have created easy to follow routines, 15 - 20 minutes in length, that will keep you running pain free all the way to the finish line.
