Race Report
As it turns out, yes: this course is definitely, 100% worth the hype as one of the toughest ultramarathon courses in Texas. We met people from throughout the US and one guy from Germany who traveled half way across the world to participate. I/we were not expecting a 25-mile course to be so punishing. We finished in about 3x my road marathon time, and one less mile, if this is an indicator of difficulty. We also had a beautiful 90 degree (Fahrenheit) day, giving us one more added layer of difficulty.

Race Information
No whiners, wimps, or wusses. The Cactus Rose Ultra & Trail Relay is a rugged trail running race designed to test runners. The course can go by quickly because of its picturesque views, technical climbs and descents, and fun terrain, but be careful not to look at the scenery too long, or you might end up face-first in a cactus.
Please understand this race does not have the usual full-spread aid stations and volunteers... on purpose. There is medical staff available, but you are required to be able to handle your own needs out on the course. People asked for a tough race, so Tejas Trails made it happen. Enjoy!
