Every fall in Fort McMurray, Alberta, hundreds of runners come to MacDonald Island Park to participate in an annual community event formerly known as the Fort McMurray Half Marathon. Building on the continued success and tremendous support, the event has gained momentum and evolved into the Fort McMurray Marathon, now offering a full-length marathon to participants. The Organizing Committee strives to provide a fantastic experience for participants, adding new and exciting runner experiences each year.

This day of outdoor fun & fitness gives runners the opportunity to register for one of six race distances, including a full marathon (42.2km), half marathon (21.1km), 10km, 5km, 3km, and a kids’ fun run. The day-long event festivities have something to offer all levels of runners and spectators, including music, food, prizes, family fun, partnership activations, and much more!
