Dawg Dash Seattle
The Seattle UW Dawg Dash has been a UW tradition since 1985. It's a very popular annual event that brings out thousands of participants and helps support student scholorships and the alumni association.
Presented by the UW Alumni Association, this 10k run and 5k walk/run is part of the University's annual homecoming celebration, and gives runners an opportunity to run through UW's Seattle campus! There's a free Husky Pups run for children 10 and under, and a post race party at Red Square.
Dog lovers take note, your furry friends are welcome at this race so bring them out!
Beginner Runner Training Plans
Are you looking to become a runner for the first time? Coming back to running after a hiatus? Our friends at None to Run have created a gradual training plan for beginner runners!
In 3 workouts of 30 minutes or less per week, None to Run will take you from ground zero to running comfortably for 25 minutes straight.
None to Run is different from most beginner plans:
- Focuses on running time. NOT distance or pace.
- Includes simple strength and mobility workouts. No equipment required.
- Progresses slowly to decrease the chances of getting injured.
If you can't currently run for more than 5-minutes straight without stopping to catch your breath, you're in the right place.
Thousands of people have already used the None to Run plan to finally become the runner they’ve always wanted to be.
