This popular Thanksgiving Day race draws thousands of participants to downtown Austin for a pre-turkey dinner run. There is a 5-mile family run and a 1-mile walk in the streets around Butler Park. For a fun and inviting atmosphere, there are separate start times for timed, untimed, and the 1-mile walk. This event supports Caritas of Austin whose mission is to help people in poverty by serving meals, finding employment, and providing housing to those less fortunate.
