Celebration in the Oaks Run/Walk
Join NOLA's favorite holiday fun run! The Allstate Sugar Bowl Celebration in the Oaks Run/Walk gives runners the chance to participate in one of the most festive holiday events in the country! This 2-mile course takes participants through New Orleans City Park during the annual Celebration in the Oaks Light Display, when the park is decorated with over 500,000 lights! The day is filled with hot cocoa, pictures with Santa, a holiday costume contest, and much more!
The race, which begins in the late afternoon, is especially popular among families. Many of those running and walking this event do so with strollers or children right by their side. After the race, participants can enjoy free refreshments and complimentary entry into the walking tour of the beautifully decorated Botanical Garden, Storyland and Carousel Gardens, before the gates are open to the general public!

Beginner Runner Training Plans
Are you looking to become a runner for the first time? Coming back to running after a hiatus? Our friends at None to Run have created a gradual training plan for beginner runners!
In 3 workouts of 30 minutes or less per week, None to Run will take you from ground zero to running comfortably for 25 minutes straight.
None to Run is different from most beginner plans:
- Focuses on running time. NOT distance or pace.
- Includes simple strength and mobility workouts. No equipment required.
- Progresses slowly to decrease the chances of getting injured.
If you can't currently run for more than 5-minutes straight without stopping to catch your breath, you're in the right place.
Thousands of people have already used the None to Run plan to finally become the runner they’ve always wanted to be.
