The Horsethief Canyon half marathon is an out-n-back course on a dirt fire road that is not too technical, located in the Pine Creek Wilderness. The course is mostly uphill going out, and mostly downhill coming back in. This makes for a great opportunity for a negative split while seeing some beautiful views of the canyon and beyond.
