Valley Stream State Park Open Run
Race Information
NYRR Open Run is a series of free weekly runs and walks in your home park. This program is in collaboration with NYC Parks' Community Parks Initiative and is presented by New York Road Runners, whose mission is to help and inspire people through running.
Valley Stream State Park, with an area of almost 100 acres, offers picnic areas, children's play areas, horseshoes, volleyball, basketball, ball fields, nature trails, cross-country ski trails, and a half-mile loop walking course with 15 stations for a variety of stretching and strengthening exercises. The back part of our Open Run course features a low-impact trail through the woods with great views of brooks and waterways. No dogs are allowed at Valley Stream State Park. Parking fees for NYRR Open Run are waived.
