Race Information

The Malawi Children’s Initiative, a charity founded by Chapel Hill physicians David and Elizabeth Fitzgerald to help build bridges between their friends and colleagues in the US and at-risk children in Malawi, where MCI has worked for more than a decade, will host its annual 5K run on in Chapel Hill’s Southern Village.

The annual Run for Malawi will feature a timed individual 5K run/walk and a virtual race option. Runners and teams are encouraged to set goals and gain support from friends, family, and organizations to help raise money for Malawi Children’s Initiative’s work. All race finishers will receive a Run for Malawi t-shirt. Prizes will be awarded for both the top finishers and top fundraisers (individuals and teams). Sponsorship and vendor opportunities for the race and festival are available. For more sponsorship information, contact: [email protected].
