Race Information

The UCI Anti-Cancer Challenge is a community movement to raise awareness and funds for critical cancer research at the UCI Health Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. One-hundred percent of the money participants raise is directed toward promising pilot studies and early phase clinical trials conducted by renowned UCI physician-scientists who will stop at nothing to defeat all forms of the disease.

On Challenge Day, the event features a 5K/10K run/walk, 14-, 35-, 60-, 100-mile bike routes, entertainment, family-friendly festival and awards. You can also join Challenge Day wherever you are. Ride, run, walk or celebrate the movement to defeat cancer! Use the hashtag #anticancerchallenge on social media.

Beginner Runner Training Plans

Are you looking to become a runner for the first time? Coming back to running after a hiatus? Our friends at None to Run have created a gradual training plan for beginner runners!

In 3 workouts of 30 minutes or less per week, None to Run will take you from ground zero to running comfortably for 25 minutes straight.

None to Run is different from most beginner plans:

  • Focuses on running time. NOT distance or pace.
  • Includes simple strength and mobility workouts. No equipment required.
  • Progresses slowly to decrease the chances of getting injured.

If you can't currently run for more than 5-minutes straight without stopping to catch your breath, you're in the right place.

Thousands of people have already used the None to Run plan to finally become the runner they’ve always wanted to be.
