The Dead Sea Marathon Israel lets you run "the lowest race on earth!" The event offers 4 options - 5k, 10k, half marathon, marathon, and the 50k. The 50k is Israel's official ultra-marathon championship. The highlight of the race is a run towards the center of the sea on the border embankment of the Dead Sea Works that surrounds the southern part of the Dead Sea. The embankment serves as the border area between the Israeli Dead Sea and the Jordanian Dead Sea. The route is mostly on compacted and flat fine gravel.
