Steveston Icebreaker 8k
Race Information
The Kajaks Track & Field Club hosts the annual Steveston Icebreaker 8K and New Balance 1K Kids run. The Icebreaker 8K is Richmond's only road race of the year, the first race in the Lifestages Lower Mainland Road Runners Series, and the second race of the BC Athletics BC Super Series, but it is open to all running levels.
Being a community-organized event, runners can expect a family-friendly environment and the opportunity to run along sections of the street that are rarely closed off to traffic. This race offers a flat and fast certified course through scenic and historic Steveston, a post-race expo with awards, and a kids' zone inside the community centre. It's a different feel than some of the big Vancouver races and it is also a fundraiser for KidSport. Start your year off with a personal best and the best views in the city! The Icebreaker and Kidsrun have both sold out the last two years so be sure to register early.
