Ever wanted to go for a jog out on the airport tarmac? Here's your chance! The Toronto Pearson Runway Run gives you the opportunity to run a 5k or walk 2k route right on the airport runway! Perhaps the neatest thing about this event is that it's business as usual for Pearson Airport so during the event you'll have up close (but no too close!) and personal views of airplanes taxiing, taking off, and landing.
The event features a 5k running course and 2k walking course. The 5k run is timed and there are awards for top finishers, but most people tend to treat this event as more of a fun run on a unique course.
Beginner Runner Training Plan
Are you looking to become a runner for the first time? Coming back to running after a hiatus? Our friends at None to Run have created a gradual training plan for beginner runners!
The None to Run Beginner Plan is super gradual and achievable, no matter your starting point. In 12 weeks, you’ll be able to run 25 minutes non-stop (and actually enjoy it).
None to Run is different from most beginner plans:
- Focuses on running time. NOT distance or pace.
- Includes simple strength and mobility workouts. No equipment required.
- Progresses slowly to decrease the chances of getting injured.
If you can't currently run for more than 5-minutes straight without stopping to catch your breath, you're in the right place.
Thousands of people have already used the None to Run plan to finally become the runner they’ve always wanted to be.
