Montana Running Company hosts the annual Beaverhead Marathon and Half Marathon in Dillon, Montana.
The Full Marathon starts at Horse Prairie Camp Ground at Clark Canyon Reservoir near the site of Lewis & Clarks Camp Fortunate with the Tendoy Mountains and Lima Peaks in the background. Participants will run on the 45th Parallel and then follow downstream along the Beaverhead River a Blue Ribbon Trout Stream past geological features like the Pipe Organ, Daly Spur, and Rattlesnake Cliffs. Runners will run past many historic landmarks including the site where gold was discovered on Grasshopper Creek in 1862.
