5K To Fight Histio
5K to Fight Histio is a fundraising event that has been held in NYC the past 10 years and finally coming to CO! This event brings families together from all over the globe to support each other and increase awareness of Histiocytosis, a rare blood disorder that all too often goes misdiagnosed leading to fatalities. Proceeds from this fundraiser go to support The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Southern CO and the mission of Liam's Lighthouse Foundation.
Liam passed away from complications of a bone marrow transplant for HLH at only 20 months old. He had been misdiagnosed for over 10 months. His mother started LLF shortly after his passing in 2009 and is continuing the fight he no longer could. With a board of 100% volunteers, LLF has been able to increase awareness of this disease world-wide and provide research grants to leading research institutions as well as support other histio families. For more information about LLF, go to www.liamslighthousefoundation.org.
Beginner Runner Training Plan
Are you looking to become a runner for the first time? Coming back to running after a hiatus? Our friends at None to Run have created a gradual training plan for beginner runners!
The None to Run Beginner Plan is super gradual and achievable, no matter your starting point. In 12 weeks, you’ll be able to run 25 minutes non-stop (and actually enjoy it).
None to Run is different from most beginner plans:
- Focuses on running time. NOT distance or pace.
- Includes simple strength and mobility workouts. No equipment required.
- Progresses slowly to decrease the chances of getting injured.
If you can't currently run for more than 5-minutes straight without stopping to catch your breath, you're in the right place.
Thousands of people have already used the None to Run plan to finally become the runner they’ve always wanted to be.
